Manual Bleeding Procedure
- Bleed vacuum from power brake unit by pressing brake pedal several times. Fill master cylinder with clean brake fluid. Install clear vinyl bleeder hose onto first bleeder screw to be serviced. See BRAKELINE BLEEDING SEQUENCE table. Place other end of hose in clean transparent container.
- If master cylinder is known or suspected to contain air, it must be bled first. To bleed master cylinder, loosen front brakeline fitting. Press brake pedal to end of travel and tighten fitting. Release brake pedal slowly. Repeat process on rear brakeline, repeating until all air is removed from master cylinder. Keep brake fluid reservoir covered and full at all times. Rinse spillage from all surfaces with water.
- Partially fill container with clean brake fluid. Open bleeder screw about 3/4 turn. Slowly press brake pedal through its full travel. Close bleeder screw and release pedal. Repeat procedure until flow of brake fluid is clear, with no sign of air bubbles. Proceed to next bleeder screw in sequence and repeat procedure.
