Brake Pedal Height
- Move carpet and insulation away from firewall and brake pedal. Measure distance horizontally between upper center of brake pedal pad and firewall. Distance should be 8.03-8.23" (204-209 mm).
- If pedal height is incorrect, inspect pedal assembly for missing, worn or damaged bushings, or for loose attaching bolts. If pedal height is still not within specifications, check brake pedal, booster or master cylinder for correct and/or correctly installed parts. If all appears okay, go to next step.
- Loosen Brake On/Off (BOO) switch lock nuts. Move BOO switch to rear until it no longer contacts pedal.
- Loosen brake booster push rod lock unit. Rotate push rod until brake pedal height is within specification. Hold push rod and tighten lock nut.
- Unplug BOO switch connector. Connect ohmmeter across switch terminals. Move switch toward brake pedal lever until ohmmeter indicates continuity.
- Carefully move switch away from lever until ohmmeter indicates no continuity. Rotate switch 1/2 additional turn toward brake pedal lever. Tighten lock nuts.
