Seat Belt Indicator Never/Always On

  1. Bulb Check  - Turn ignition off. Remove fasten seat belt indicator bulb from instrument cluster. Ensure continuity exists between bulb terminals. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, replace bulb.
  2. Seat Belt Switch Check  - Turn ignition off. Disconnect driver's seat belt buckle switch connector. Check resistance between seat belt buckle switch terminals with seat belt disconnected, then connected. If resistance is less than 5 ohms with seat belt disconnected, and greater than 10,000 ohms with seat belt connected, go to next step. If resistances are not as specified, replace seat belt buckle end.
  3. Seat Belt Switch Ground Circuit Check  - Check resistance between ground and Black wire of seat belt buckle switch connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, repair Black wire.
  4. Seat Belt Switch To Warning Chime Module Circuit Check  - Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect warning chime module connector (located behind left side of instrument panel). Check resistance between ground and Blue/White wire at warning chime module connector. Check resistance of Blue/White wire between warning chime module connector and seat belt buckle switch connector. If resistance is greater than 10,000 ohms between warning chime module and ground, and less than 5 ohms between module and switch, go to next step. If resistances are not as specified, repair Blue/White wire.
  5. Instrument Cluster To Warning Chime Module Circuit Check  - Turn ignition off. Disconnect instrument cluster C209 (White) connector. Check resistance between instrument cluster connector C209 terminal A14 (Pink wire) and ground. Check resistance of Pink wire between instrument cluster connector C209 terminal A14 and warning chime module connector. If resistance is greater than 10,000 ohms between instrument cluster and ground, and less than 5 ohms between instrument cluster and warning chime module, go to next step. If resistances are not as specified, repair Pink wire.
  6. Printed Circuit Check  - Ground Pink wire at warning chime module connector. If fasten seat belt indicator lights up, replace warning chime module. If indicator does not light up, replace instrument cluster printed circuit board.
