Coolant Temperature Always Reads Hot

  1. Temperature Indicator Sending Unit Check  - Perform TEMPERATURE SENDING UNIT TEST under COMPONENT TESTS. If necessary, replace temperature sending unit. If temperature sending unit is okay, go to next step.
  2. Temperature Gauge Check  - Perform TEMPERATURE GAUGE TEST under COMPONENT TESTS. If necessary, replace temperature gauge. If temperature gauge is okay, repair short circuit in Yellow/Black wire.
