Temperature Gauge Test

  1. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using jumper wires, connect positive battery terminal to temperature gauge "+" terminal and negative battery terminal to gauge "-" terminal.
  2. Connect one lead of Rotunda Instrument Gauge System Tester (014-R1063) to temperature gauge "U" terminal. Connect other tester lead to gauge "-" terminal. Set tester resistance to 15.9 ohms. Gauge should indicate hot (H). Set tester resistance to 180.5 ohms. Gauge should indicate cold (C). If gauge indications are not as specified, replace temperature gauge.
