Removal & Installation (Contour & Mystique)
- Remove negative battery cable. Open storage compartment door under left side of steering column and remove 3 retaining screws and 2 retaining clips to remove instrument panel. Press locking tab and lower fuse junction panel. Disconnect 2 multi-plugs and unhook fuse junction panel.
- Unplug 5 connectors from rear of fuse junction panel and remove junction panel. Remove clip retaining clutch master cylinder to pedal. Remove clip and disconnect clutch slave cylinder tube from clutch master cylinder and plug. Remove clutch master cylinder mounting nuts and remove clutch master cylinder.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Bleed clutch hydraulic system. See HYDRAULIC SYSTEM BLEEDING . Tighten nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS (CONTOUR & MYSTIQUE) .
