Removal & Installation (Thunderbird & Cougar, C-III)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect power steering return hose at cooler return tube connection and drain fluid. Remove power steering pressure hose form power steering pump outlet and drain fluid.
  2. Disconnect drive bolt from pump pulley. Remove 4 bolts and remove pump and pulley. To install pump, reverse removal procedure. Refill and bleed hydraulic system.
