Removal & Installation (Contour & Mystique 2.0L)
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove exhaust manifold heat shield. Remove pump reservoir hose from bracket.
- Drain reservoir by disconnecting fluid return line at pump. Drain pump by removing pressure line at pump. Plug pressure line to prevent contamination. Release belt tension by rotating automatic tensioner clockwise.
- Remove drive belt. Remove 3 bolts from traction assist module bracket. Rotate pump pulley to gain access to 3 pump bolts. Remove 3 bolts. Remove bolt at rear of pump and remove pump. To install pump, reverse removal procedure. Refill and bleed hydraulic system.
