Oil Pressure Gauge Inaccurate Or Inoperative

  1. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using fused jumper wire, apply battery voltage to cluster terminal No. 6 (Black/Yellow wire on mating 14-pin connector). Connect cluster terminal No. 9 (Black wire on mating 14-pin connector) to ground.
  2. Connect one lead of Gauge System Tester (014-R1063) to cluster terminal No. 6 (Pink/Yellow wire on mating 16-pin connector). Connect remaining tester lead to ground.
  3. Set tester to resistance specified in illustration. See Fig 1 . If oil pressure gauge indicates as specified, go to appropriate PINPOINT TEST for further diagnosis. See PINPOINT TEST INDEX TABLE  . Replace temperature gauge if it does not indicate as specified.
