Symptom Test A: Neither Belt Will Leave Center Body Pillar (B-Pillar) Or Front Body Pillar (A-Pillar)

  1. Locate fuse panel and check 30 amp belt and 15 amp meter fuses. If fuses is okay, go to step 4). If fuses are not okay, go to next step.
  2. Replace blown fuses. Turn key on. If fuses fail again, go to next step. If fuses did not fail again, go to step 4).
  3. Turn key off. Locate and disconnect passive restraint control module connectors, instrument cluster connectors and shift lock actuator connector. Locate and disconnect 18 pin and 15 pin interior fuse junction panel connectors. Measure resistance between Yellow wire and/or Black/Yellow wire between interior fuse junction panel connector(s) and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, service/repair wire(s) in question. If resistance is not less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  4. Turn key off. Disconnect passive restraint control module connectors. Measure voltage on Yellow wire at passive restraint control module connector #1. Turn key on. Measure voltage on Black/Yellow wire at passive restraint control module connector #2. If voltages are greater than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltages are not greater than 10 volts, service/repair wire(s) in question.
  5. Turn key off. Disconnect passive restraint control module connectors. Measure resistance between each Black wire at passive restraint control module connectors and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace passive restraint control module. If resistance is not less than 5 ohms, service/repair Black wire in question.
