Rear Suspension Upper Arm: Installation

  1. Position the spacer and inner insulator on the rear suspension upper arm stud.
  2. Install the rear suspension upper arm and bushing so the stud extends through the left frame bracket.
  3. Install the outer spacer and outer insulator over the stud.
    4. CAUTION: When performing the following step, do not final tighten to the specified torque.
  4. Install the nut and washer assembly and tighten until snug.
  5. Position the rear suspension upper arm in right frame bracket. Install the bolt and nut and tighten until snug.
    6. CAUTION: When performing the following step, do not tighten to the specified torque.
  6. Align scribe marks on the cam adjuster and axle bushing and connect the rear suspension upper arm and bushing to the rear axle.
  7. Install the bolt and tighten until snug. Do not tighten to the specified torque.
  8. Raise the rear axle to the normal ride position (full weight of vehicle on suspension).
  9. Position the shock absorber in the lower mounting bracket. Install the bolt so head is outboard of axle bracket. Install the nut and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  10. Tighten all rear suspension upper arm fasteners to the specified torque. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
