Removal & Installation: Spindle: Removal
- Raise and support vehicle with safety stands under the frame. Remove wheel and tire assembly. Remove caliper, rotor and dust shield from spindle. Remove cotter pin and tie rod end-to-spindle lower arm nut.
- Using Pitman Arm Puller (T64P-3590-F), disconnect tie rod end. Ensure floor jack is supporting lower control arm. Remove cotter pin and loosen spindle-to-lower control arm joint nut.
- Using Pitman Arm Puller (T64P-3590-F), loosen lower ball joint. Remove puller and ball joint retaining nut. With vehicle body supported on safety stands, slowly lower control arm until lower ball joint is disengaged from spindle.
- Remove bolt and nut retaining spindle to upper control arm ball joint. Remove spindle from vehicle.
WARNING:
Use extreme caution in step 3
when lowering control arm. Coil spring may quickly expand with dangerous force.
