Code 21 - SAFING Sensor Not Mounted To Vehicle Properly: Description

Circuit No. 613 (Dark Blue/White wire) is riveted to inside of safing sensor housing. Housing is grounded to vehicle. A resistor inside diagnostic monitor is connected to terminal No. 16 (circuit No. 613) and has a 5 volt reference voltage. If circuit No. 613 is properly grounded, voltage at terminal No. 16 will be zero volts. If voltage at circuit No. 613 is more than .7 volt, diagnostic monitor will flash Code 21, indicating safing sensor is not grounded properly to vehicle.
