Tone Generator

AIR BAG warning light is the prime means of determining air bag system condition. If AIR BAG warning light fails to illuminate and a fault occurs, the tone generator, located within the air bag diagnostic monitor, generates a series of 5 sets of 5 audible tones will be heard, indicating air bag system requires servicing. Tones do not indicate a fault Code 55. If air bag system is not serviced when warning light flashes, it may not function properly in an accident.
