Coil Spring: Removal

- Place wheels in centered position. Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheels. Disconnect stabilizer bar link-to-lower control arm bolts. See Figure . Remove shock absorber.
- Using Spring Compressor (T81P-5310-A), compress coil spring. Loosen lower control arm pivot bolts. See Figure . Remove cotter pin from lower ball joint-to-steering knuckle nut and loosen nut. DO NOT remove nut.
- Using Pitman Arm Puller (T64P-3590-F), loosen lower ball joint from steering knuckle. Remove puller. Remove nut from ball joint. Separate lower ball joint from lower control arm. Remove coil spring with upper and lower insulators. See Figure .
NOTE:
If new coil spring is to be installed, measure length of compressed coil spring. Adjust new coil spring compressed length to that of coil spring removed, for installation purposes.
