Ignition Coil Resistance (M/T)
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Mazda MX-6 and 1995 Mazda 626. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Remove primary and secondary leads from ignition coil. Using ohmmeter, check primary resistance between terminals "A" and "B" of coil. See Fig 1 -Fig 2 . Resistance should be as specified in IGNITION COIL RESISTANCE table. If resistance is not as specified, replace ignition coil.
- Check secondary resistance between terminal "A" and coil tower. See Fig 3 -Fig 4 . See IGNITION COIL RESISTANCE table. If resistance is not within specification, replace coil.
