MX-6 & 626 2.0L A/T

  1. With engine off, remove shorting bar from the double-wire SPOUT connector located in front corner of engine compartment near main fuse block. Start and warm engine to normal operating temperature.
  2. Connect timing light to engine. Set timing to specification. Refer to the IGNITION TIMING SPECIFICATIONS  table. See Fig 2 . Turn engine off. Reinstall shorting bar on double-wire SPOUT connector.

IGNITION TIMING SPECIFICATIONS (Degrees BTDC @ RPM)

Application M/T. (1) A/T
MX-6 & 626 2.0L (2) 12 @ 700 (3) 10 @ 700
(1) Place automatic transmission in Park.
(2) Connect jumper wire between terminals TEN and GRD of data link connector.
(3) Remove shorting bar from the double-wire SPOUT connector located in front corner of engine compartment near main fuse block.
