Removal (F250/350)

Remove wheel assembly and brake drum. If brake drum is difficult to remove, use a narrow screwdriver and brake adjustment tool to retract brake shoes. Remove parking brake lever assembly retaining bolt from backing plate. Remove parking brake lever assembly. See Fig 1. Remove adjusting cable assembly from anchor pin, cable guide and adjusting lever. Remove brake shoe return springs, hold-down springs and brake shoes. Remove and disassemble adjusting screw assembly.
