SAFING Sensor R & I: Removal

Before proceeding, read and understand all air bag service precautions. See SERVICE PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Safing sensor is mounted to right side "B" pillar behind corner trim panel. See Fig 1 . Remove right rear corner trim panel. Disconnect sensor from wiring assembly connector. Remove retaining screws and sensor from cowl panel. Remove sensor from vehicle.
