Test "N" (Rear Blower Motor)

  1. Check EATC System

    Test EATC system operation. See EATC SYSTEM TEST under TESTING. Repair as necessary. If system tests okay, go to next step.
  2. Check Fuses

    Check fuses No. 10 and 31 in instrument panel fuse box. If fuses are okay, go to next step. If fuse is blown, check circuit(s) for short to ground and repair as necessary. Replace fuse(s).
  3. Check Power At Rear Blower Motor

    Turn ignition on. Press REAR FAN OFF button on EATC control panel to turn on rear blower motor. Set blower switch on rear integrated control panel to OFF position. Measure voltage at Pink/White wire terminal of rear blower motor connector. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, go to step 9).
  4. Check Orange/Red Wire

    Turn blower switch on rear integrated control panel to HI position. Turn ignition off. Disconnect rear blower motor connector. Check continuity between known-good ground and Orange/Red wire terminal of rear blower motor connector. If continuity does not exist, go to next step. If continuity exists, replace rear blower motor.
  5. Check Ground Circuit Of Rear Blower Motor Switch

    Check continuity between known-good ground and Black wire terminal of rear blower motor switch. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open Black wire.
  6. Check High Speed Circuit Of Rear Blower Motor Switch

    Check continuity between known-good ground and Orange/Black wire terminal of rear blower motor switch. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, replace rear blower motor switch.
  7. Check For Open Orange/Black wire

    Check continuity between known-good ground and Orange/Black wire terminal of rear blower motor resistor connector. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open Orange/Black wire.
  8. Check For Faulty Rear Blower Motor Resistor

    Check continuity between known-good ground and Orange/Red wire terminal of rear blower motor resistor connector. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, replace rear blower motor resistor.
  9. Check Voltage Output At Rear Blower Motor Relay

    Turn ignition on. Measure voltage at Pink/White wire terminal of rear blower motor relay connector. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, repair open Pink/White wire between rear blower motor relay and rear blower motor.
  10. Check Voltage Inputs To Rear Blower Motor Relay

    Measure voltage at Gray/Yellow wire terminal and Brown/Orange wire terminal of rear blower motor relay connector. If battery voltage exists at each terminal, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open wire(s).
  11. Check Rear Blower Motor Relay Ground Circuit

    Disconnect rear blower motor relay connector. Check continuity between known-good ground and Red/Orange wire terminal of connector. If continuity exists, replace rear blower motor relay. If continuity does not exist, check for open Red/Orange wire. If Red/Orange wire is okay, replace EATC module (control panel).
