Test "E" (Blower Motor Inoperative In High Speed Setting)

Check EATC System

Test EATC system operation. See EATC SYSTEM TEST under TESTING. Repair as necessary. If system tests okay, go to next step.

Check Blower Motor Operation

Start engine. Select MAX A/C. Position blower motor thumbwheel halfway between LO position and HI position. Verify blower operates. Rotate thumbwheel to HI position. Blower speed should gradually increase to high speed. If blower motor operates as specified, blower motor is functioning properly at this time. If blower motor does not operate as specified, go to next step.

Check Voltage Input To Blower Speed Controller (BSC)

Turn ignition off. Disconnect BSC connector. Start engine. Select MAXA/C. Rotate blower motor thumbwheel to highest speed setting. Measure voltage between terminals No. 3 (White/Pink wire) and No. 5 (Black wire) of BSC connector. If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or more, replace BSC.

Check Voltage Output At EATC Module

Turn ignition off. Reconnect BSC connector. Start engine. Select MAX A/C. Rotate blower motor thumbwheel to highest speed setting. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 9 (White/Pink wire) of EATC module connector (backprobe terminal). If voltage is 10 volts or more, repair White/Pink wire. If voltage is less than 10 volts, replace EATC module (control panel).
