Test "A" Temperature Blend Door Actuator)

- Check EATC System
Test EATC system operation. See EATC SYSTEM TEST under TESTING. Repair as necessary. If system tests okay, go to next step. - Check Actuator Operation
Disconnect both connectors from EATC module on back of control panel. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Connect one end of jumper wire to terminal No. 24 (Black wire) of EATC module connector. Momentarily connect remaining end of same jumper wire, in turn, to terminal No. 22 (Dark Blue/Light Green wire) and then terminal No. 21 (Orange wire). If motor moves in both directions, go to next step. If motor does not move in both directions, go to step 4). - Check Actuator Resistance
Operate motor until temperature blend door is in full heat position. Turn ignition off. Measure resistance between indicated EATC module connector terminals. See BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR RESISTANCE table. If resistance is not as specified, go to next step. If resistance is as specified, replace EATC module (control panel).BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR RESISTANCETerminals No. (Wire Colors) Ohms 15 (LT GRN/ORG) & 6 (ORG/BLK) 5000-7000 5 (BRN/WHT) & 6 (ORG/BLK) 3500-6000 5 (BRN/WHT) & 15 (LT GRN/ORG) 250-1500 - Check Wiring Continuity
Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect blend door actuator connector. Check continuity of following wire between actuator connector and EATC module connectors: Brown/White, Orange/Black, Light Green/Orange, Orange, Dark Blue/Light Green and Black. If continuity does not exist, repair open wire(s). If wires are okay, go to next step. - Check Power At Actuator
Turn ignition on. Measure voltage at Gray/Yellow wire terminal of actuator connector. If battery voltage is not present, repair Gray/Yellow wire. If battery voltage is present, replace actuator.
