Entering Self-Diagnostics

  1. Warm engine until coolant temperature is at least 120°F (49°C). Turn ignition on. Simultaneously press OFF and FLOOR buttons, and then within 2 seconds, press AUTOMATIC button. Self-test may take up to 20 seconds, indicated by blank display window on EATC module.
  2. If display is blank for more than 20 seconds or if Code 888 is displayed, go to EATC SYSTEM TEST under TESTING. If no codes are displayed and system is not operating properly, go to SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS. If codes are displayed, record codes and repair in the order displayed. See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC CODE DIRECTORY table.
NOTE: Before turning ignition off, exit self-diagnostics.
