Clutch Cycling Pressure Switch

The clutch cycling pressure switch is mounted on top of accumulator-drier. A Schrader valve depressor, located in end of switch, presses in on Schrader valve stem as switch is installed. This allows pressure inside accumulator-drier to control switch operation.
The electrical contacts inside clutch cycling pressure switch are normally open when pressure is about 26 psi (2 kg/cm2 ). Contacts close and activate compressor clutch when pressure reaches about 45 psi (3 kg/cm2 ) or greater. Contacts of electrical switch control current to A/C compressor clutch. When working properly, clutch cycling switch keeps evaporator core temperature at a point where fin surface of evaporator is maintained just warmer than freezing.
