Symptom Checks

Perform the following:
- For low idle symptom, disconnect IAC solenoid and check for RPM drop. If RPM does not drop, go to step 2) of CIRCUIT TEST KE.
- Perform QUICK TEST. See TESTS W/CODES - EEC-IV (4.0L) article. If code is present, perform appropriate CIRCUIT TEST.
- Check idle speed. See IDLE SPEED & MIXTURE in ADJUSTMENTS - 4.0L article.
- On A/T models with overdrive, check transmission solenoids. See CIRCUIT TEST TC in TESTS W/CODES - EEC-IV (4.0L) article.
- Check Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system. See EMISSION SYSTEMS & SUB-SYSTEMS in the SYSTEM/COMPONENT TESTS - EEC-IV (4.0L) article.
- If low idle exists with A/C on, go to step 30) of CIRCUIT TEST KM in TESTS W/CODES - EEC-IV (4.0L) article.
