Blue/White Smoke (Engine At Normal Operating Temperature)

  1. If engine is not at normal operating temperature, go to next step. If engine is at normal operating temperature, go to step 3).
  2. Remove the thermostat and test for proper operation. Replace as necessary. If thermostat is operating properly, replace thermostat housing with integral air bleed valve and repeat step 1). If the thermostat is not operating properly, replace thermostat and repeat step 1).
  3. Check engine oil level and add if necessary. If oil level is correct, go to next step. If oil level is too high, drain excess oil. If problem still exists, go to next step.
  4. Perform CHECK FUEL RETURN PRESSURE  test under ENGINE PERFORMANCE DIAGNOSIS. If fuel return pressure is okay, perform entire ENGINE PERFORMANCE DIAGNOSIS  . If fuel return pressure is high, repair or replace fuel return line(s) as necessary.
