WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Ford RV Cutaway, 1995 Ford Econoline, 1995 Ford Cutaway, and 1995 Ford Club Wagon. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Remove crankcase depression regulator valve and securely plug opening to prevent blow-by. Remove oil filler cap, and install Adapter (5631) and Pressure Test Kit (014-00761). See Figure . Ensure dipstick is seated in dipstick tube. Run engine at 3000 RPM, with no load and transmission in Neutral. Record pressure reading. Pressure reading should not exceed 6" of H2O at 3300 RPM. If crankcase pressure is less than 6" of H2O at 3300 RPM, replace injection pump and check and adjust timing. If crankcase pressure is greater than 6" of H2O at 3300 RPM, problem is internal to engine. Repair engine as necessary.
