Manifold Absolute Pressure (Map) Sensor

Sensor is located on engine or firewall and is connected to intake manifold by a vacuum supply hose. Remove vacuum supply hose to sensor. Install vacuum pump and apply 18 in. Hg vacuum to sensor. Sensor should hold vacuum. If sensor does not hold vacuum, replace sensor. Faults in MAP sensor or circuit should set a diagnostic trouble code.
