Water Pump: Removal

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable from both batteries. Partially drain cooling system. On Van, remove air cleaner assembly. On all models, remove upper radiator hose. Disconnect coolant recovery hose from radiator.
  2. Disconnect fan shroud and place over fan. Using Fan Clutch Pulley Holder (T94T-6312-AH) and Fan Clutch Nut Wrench (T83T-6312-B), remove fan, clutch assembly and fan shroud. Loosen water pump pulley and remove drive belt.
  3. Remove water pump pulley. Disconnect engine coolant temperature sensor. Disconnect heater hose from water pump. Remove water pump inlet fitting from water pump. Note bolt location and remove water pump bolts. Remove water pump.
