Removal & Disassembly

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 10 other vehicles, including the 1995 Ford RV Cutaway, 1995 Ford Pickup, 1995 Ford F-Super Duty, 1995 Ford Econoline, and 1995 Ford Cutaway. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disconnect negative cable from both batteries. Drain cooling system. On Van, remove air cleaner assembly. On all models, disconnect fan shroud and position shroud over fan. Using Fan Clutch Pulley Holder (T94T-6312-AH) and Fan Clutch Nut Wrench (T83T-6312-B), remove fan, clutch assembly and fan shroud. Rotate drive belt tensioner and remove drive belt.
  2. On Pickup, remove water pump inlet. On all models, remove oil cooler front header bolts. Remove turbocharger exhaust outlet pipe clamp. Raise and support vehicle. Remove oil filter. Remove engine block heater connector. On Pickup, remove 2 left engine mount bolts. Raise engine with floor jack. On all models, remove oil cooler-to-engine block bolts. Remove oil cooler.
  3. To disassemble, use a soft-faced hammer and gently tap front and rear (filter) headers to loosen "O" rings. See Figure. Separate headers from tube assembly. Thoroughly clean tube assembly and headers in solvent. Drain residue and blow dry with compressed air.
CAUTION: To prevent leakage, use NEW "O" rings when assembling oil cooler assembly.
