Removal (Van)

- Disconnect negative battery cable from both batteries. Remove interior engine cover. Drain cooling system. Remove air cleaner assembly. Remove upper radiator hose. Remove radiator coolant recovery reservoir hose.CAUTION: Fan and fan clutch assembly use right-hand threads.
- Using Fan Clutch Nut Wrench (T83T-6312-B) and Fan Clutch Pulley Holder (T94T-6312-AH), remove fan clutch assembly and set inside fan shroud. Remove fan shroud and fan clutch assembly. Rotate drive belt tensioner clockwise and remove drive belt.
- Disconnect generator electrical connectors and remove generator. Remove oil dipstick tube. Raise and support vehicle. Remove turbocharger exhaust inlet pipes-to-exhaust manifold bolts.
- If removing left manifold, remove bolts and exhaust manifold. If removing right manifold, lower vehicle and disconnect exhaust backpressure line from manifold. Remove bolts and exhaust manifold.
