Crankshaft Front Seal: Removal

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable from both batteries. Disconnect fan shroud and place shroud over fan. Using Fan Clutch Pulley Holder (T94T-6312-AH) and Fan Clutch Nut Wrench (T83T-6312-B), remove fan and clutch assembly. Remove fan shroud. Drain cooling system and remove radiator. Raise and support vehicle. Remove flywheel housing cover (if equipped).
  2. Using a breaker bar to prevent crankshaft from rotating, remove crankshaft pulley bolt and washer. Remove crankshaft pulley. Install Damper Remover (T79T-6316-A2), Adapter (T79T-6316-A3) and Adapter Bolt (T94T-6379-AH3), and remove vibration damper.
  3. Using Step Plate Adapter (D80L-630-A), Damper Wear Ring Remover (T94T-6379-AH1), Bearing Collet Sleeve (T77F-7025-C), Remover Tube (T77J-7025-B) and Forcing Screw (T84T-7025-B), remove crankshaft damper wear ring. Remove crankshaft front oil seal using, Lube Tube Remover (T86P-70001) and Slide Hammer (T59L-100-B).
