Removal & Installation: Camshaft: Installation

Lubricate camshaft journals with engine oil. Coat camshaft lobes with multipurpose grease. Install camshaft into bore. Ensure timing marks are aligned. See Figure. Install camshaft thrust plate. Ensure camshaft end play is within specification. See CAMSHAFT table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS.
Install rocker arms and push rods in original positions in block. Install engine front cover. See ENGINE FRONT COVER . To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
