Oil Cooler Assembly

Oil flows from pump to oil cooler located on left side of engine block. See Figure and Figure. Oil flows around the outside of heat exchanger tubes inside oil cooler. Coolant flows through heat exchanger tubes where heat is transferred to coolant.
If oil is found in coolant or coolant is found in oil, check oil cooler for leakage. Areas of possible leakage include "O" rings, heat exchanger tubes inside cooler, front header and rear header.
