Timing Chain: Installation

- Lightly oil threads of bolts and studs. Ensure crankshaft key is at 12 o'clock position. Install tensioner/snubber assembly with ratcheting mechanism in retracted position and pin in bracket hole facing outward.
- Install crankshaft gear, camshaft gear and timing chain as an assembly. Ensure timing marks and keyways align. See Figure . With all timing marks aligned, remove pin from tensioner/snubber assembly to apply tension to timing chain.
- Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . To install remaining components, reverse removal procedure.
