Balance Shaft: Removal

Engine must be removed in order to remove balance shaft. Refer to ENGINE . Remove the timing chain and gears. Refer to TIMING CHAIN .
Remove balance shaft drive gear from camshaft. Remove balance shaft thrust plate bolts. Remove balance shaft. See Fig 1 .
If replacing balance shaft bearings, remove rear bore plug. Use Camshaft/Balance Shaft Bearing Set (T65L-6250-A) to remove balance shaft bearings.
