Canister Purge (CANP) Solenoid Valve
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Ford Aerostar. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Normally closed solenoid valve controls the flow of fuel vapors from canister to intake manifold. When engine is shut off, vapors from fuel tank flow into canister. After engine is started, solenoid valve is energized and opened, purging fuel vapors into engine.
