Printed Circuit Test

  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Partially remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER R & I  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. With an ohmmeter, measure resistance between cluster connector C2, terminals No. 5 and 9 (Black wire) and ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair circuit No. 57 (Black wire) for an open. See Figure .
  2. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using a test light, check circuit No. 640 (Red/Yellow wire) cluster connector C1, terminal No. 13 and cluster connector C2, terminal No. 12. If test light illuminates, replace instrument cluster printed circuit. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER R & I  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If test light does not illuminate, repair circuit No. 640 (Red/Yellow wire) for open. Retest system. See Figure .
