Axle Housing Assembly: Installation

  1. Install axle mounting bracket to axle housing, if removed. Install mounting bracket bolts using Loctite and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
    NOTE: If using new axle housing mounting bushings, tighten each lock nut to full torque in one step.
  2. Insert axle housing bushing studs (4) through axle mounting brackets. Install axle housing mounting bushing stud lock nuts using Loctite, and tighten in sequence to specification.
  3. Tightening sequence is as follows: left front, right front, pinion and rear. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
