Axle Ratio & Identification
Metal identification tag stamped with date of manufacture, ratio, ring gear diameter and assembly plant coding is attached to rear cover on the housing. See Fig 1 . Use information to order replacement parts. Vehicle axle application can also be determined through axle code on Safety Certification Label located on driver's door pillar.
NOTE:
If rear axle is a limited slip version, an "L" will be displayed with the ratio. For example, a limited slip axle ratio would be listed as 3L45.
