Code 7 - No Isolation Solenoid During Self-Check

NOTE: Test starts with step 2). No test procedures have been omitted.
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect control module connector. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . Check resistance between terminal No. 13 (Pink/Light Green wire) of control module connector and chassis ground. See Figure . If resistance is less then 3 ohms, leave module connector disconnected and go to step 7).
  2. If resistance is 3-6 ohms, circuit is shorted. Leave control module disconnected and go to next step.
  3. Disconnect and inspect valve assembly connector. If terminals No. 1 (Pink/Light Green wire) and No. 3 (Black/White wire) in valve assembly and harness connector are clean and firmly in place, leave connector disconnected and go to next step. If terminal(s) in valve assembly or valve assembly harness connector are loose, bent, deformed or corroded, repair or replace as necessary and go to step 8).
  4. Ensure valve assembly connector is disconnected. Check resistance between terminals No. 1 (Pink/Light Green wire) and No. 3 (Black/White wire) of valve assembly connector. See Figure . If resistance is greater than 3 ohms, leave connector disconnected and go to next step. If resistance is 3 ohms or less, replace valve assembly and go to step 8).
  5. Check resistance between terminal No. 13 (Pink/Light Green wire) of control module harness connector and chassis ground. See Figure . If resistance is less than 20,000 ohms, repair short in Pink/Light Green wire. After repairs, go to step 8). If resistance is 20,000 ohms or greater, there is a conflict of information. Repeat step  4 .
  6. Ensure all preceding diagnostic steps have been completed and that involved wiring integrity has been verified. If steps have not been completed, go to last diagnostic step completed and continue from there. If all diagnostic steps have been completed, replace control module and go to next step. If control module has already been replaced without resolution of problem, replace valve assembly and go to next step.
  7. Turn ignition off. Reconnect negative battery cable. Ensure all connectors are connected and secure. Retrieve trouble codes. See RETRIEVING TROUBLE CODES  . If Code 16 is present, go to CODE 16 under TEST DRIVE  . If Code 7 is present, go to next step. If any other trouble code is present, go to corresponding test for appropriate trouble code.
  8. Ensure all preceding diagnostic steps have been completed and that involved wiring integrity has been verified. If steps have not been completed, go to last diagnostic step completed and continue from there. If all diagnostic steps have been completed, go to next step.
  9. If previous diagnostic steps have been completed, problem is most likely wiring related. Go to INTERMITTENT DIAGNOSIS  and perform tests on affected circuits. If problem still exists, go to step 7). If problem is resolved, repair is complete. Go to CODE 16 under TEST DRIVE  .
