Test E - Red BRAKE Light On, Ignition Switch In RUN Position

  1. Release parking brake. Turn ignition on. If both Red and Yellow warning lights are off, go to next step. If both Red and Yellow warning lights are on, check for trouble codes. See RETRIEVING TROUBLE CODES  . If Code 4 is present, see CODE 4 - Open Or Grounded Valve Reset Switch under TROUBLE CODE DIAGNOSIS  . If Code 12 is present, see CODE 12 - Loss Of Hydraulic Fluid For One Second Or More under TROUBLE CODE DIAGNOSIS  .
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect parking brake switch harness connector. Turn ignition on. If Red BRAKE light is off, repeat SYSTEM PRELIMINARY CHECK  . If Red BRAKE light is on, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect low vacuum switch harness connector. Turn ignition on. If Red light is on, locate and repair short to ground in Purple/White or Light Green/Red wire between parking brake switch and diode/resistor assembly. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . Reconnect connectors and go to TEST D under TROUBLE CODE DIAGNOSIS  . If Red light is off, replace pressure differential warning switch. Repeat SYSTEM PRELIMINARY CHECK  .
