Test C - Yellow REAR ABS Light Self-Check Okay, But Automatically Begins Flashing

  1. Observe Yellow REAR ABS light to determine if flash is random or trouble code sequence (short flashes followed by one long pause). If flashing sequence is a trouble code, check for short to ground in Black/Orange or Red wire. Repair as necessary and repeat YELLOW LIGHT CHECK under SYSTEM PRELIMINARY CHECK  . If flash sequence is random flashing (not a trouble code), go to next step.
  2. Disconnect ABS control module harness connector. Turn ignition on. Check voltage between ground and terminals No. 1 and 9 (Light Blue/Pink wire) of control module connector. Wiggle instrument panel harness while checking voltage. If voltage reading is greater than 9 volts and steady, go to next step. If voltage reading is not as specified, repair Light Blue/Pink wire. After repairs, repeat YELLOW LIGHT CHECK under SYSTEM PRELIMINARY CHECK  .
  3. Disconnect negative battery cable. Check resistance between ground and control module harness connector terminal No. 4 (Black/White wire). Wiggle harness while checking resistance. If resistance is less than one ohm and steady, replace control module. Reconnect negative battery cable and repeat YELLOW LIGHT CHECK under SYSTEM PRELIMINARY CHECK  . If resistance is not as specified, repair Light Green/Yellow or Black/White wire. Reconnect battery and repeat YELLOW LIGHT CHECK under SYSTEM PRELIMINARY CHECK  .
