Test A - Yellow REAR ABS Light Off, Does Not Self-Check

  1. Remove and inspect REAR ABS light fuse. If fuse is blown, check for short to ground between fuse panel and warning lights. Repair short and replace fuse. Repeat system preliminary check. If fuse fails again, go to next step.
  2. Ensure control module connector is fully engaged. If connector is fully engaged, go to next step. If connector is not fully engaged, engage it and repeat YELLOW LIGHT CHECK under SYSTEM PRELIMINARY CHECK  .
  3. Disconnect battery cables. Disconnect control module harness connector. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . Check resistance between control module harness connector terminal No. 4 and ground. See Fig 1 . If resistance is less than one ohm, check for open circuit between terminal No. 4 and ground. Check for loose, dirty or broken connector pins. After repairs, repeat YELLOW LIGHT CHECK under SYSTEM PRELIMINARY CHECK  . If resistance is as specified, go to next step.

  4. Turn ignition on. Check voltage at control module harness connector terminal No. 7 and ground. If voltage reading is about 9 volts, replace control module and perform YELLOW LIGHT CHECK under SYSTEM PRELIMINARY CHECK  . If voltage reading is not as specified, go to next step.
  5. Check voltage at fuse. It voltage reading is about 9 volts, go to next step. If voltage is reading is not as specified, repair fuse panel or vehicle electrical system. See WIRING DIAGRAM  . After repairs, repeat YELLOW LIGHT CHECK under SYSTEM PRELIMINARY CHECK  .
  6. Check warning light bulb. If bulb is faulty, replace light bulb and repeat YELLOW LIGHT CHECK under SYSTEM PRELIMINARY CHECK  . If bulb is okay, repair open between RABS light fuse and pin No. 7 of RABS control module harness connector.
