Pinpoint Test E - Cs Displayed, Lights 2 Top & 2 Bottom Bars Of Fuel Gauge

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Measure resistance between harness connector C1, pin No. 6 (Yellow/White wire) and connector C1, pin No. 8 (Black/White wire). See Figure . If resistance is greater than 15 ohms (normally 15-160 ohms), replace instrument cluster. If resistance is less than 15 ohms, go to next step.
  2. Lower fuel tank to gain access to fuel tank sending unit. Unplug harness connector from fuel tank sending unit. Again measure resistance between instrument EIC harness connector pins specified in step 1). Resistance should be greater than 10 k/ohms. If resistance is as specified, replace fuel pump module. If resistance is not as specified, repair short in fuel pump module wiring harness.
