Pinpoint Test D - Co Displayed, Lights 2 Top & 2 Bottom Bars Of Fuel Gauge

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Lower fuel tank to gain access to fuel tank sending unit. Unplug connector from fuel tank sending unit. Connect jumper wire between Yellow/White and Orange/Yellow wires of fuel tank sending unit harness connector. Reconnect negative battery cable. Turn ignition on. Observe fuel gauge for several minutes. If CO appears, go to step 3). If CO does not appear after several minutes, go to next step (if CS is displayed, remove jumper wire).
  2. Turn ignition off. Measure resistance between terminals of fuel tank sending unit. If resistance is 15-160 ohms (normal), check connector for damage or corrosion and repair as necessary. If resistance is not 15-160 ohms, replace fuel pump module.
  3. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Inspect wiring and terminal of connector C1, pin No. 6 (Yellow/White wire) and connector C1, pin No. 8 (Black/White wire). Repair as necessary. If 0wiring and terminals are okay, replace instrument cluster.
