Pinpoint Test C - Display Does Not Respond To Buttons - No Beep Sound When Buttons Pressed, No Driver Alert Sounds

Turn ignition on. Check for display response to buttons. If display responds to buttons, go to next step. If display does not respond to buttons, go to step 3).
Turn ignition on. Check for seat belt unfastened and key warning chimes. If seat belt warning chime sounds, go to step 6). If seat belt chime does not sound, replace Generic Electronic Module (GEM).
Remove finish panel to expose instrument cluster. Inspect all wiring connections for secure attachment to instrument cluster. If connections are okay, go to next step. Secure wiring and connections if loose.

Measure resistance between specified cluster switch terminals while pressing each button in turn. See CLUSTER SWITCH RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS table. If resistances are within specification, go to next step. If resistances are not within specification, replace message center switch module.

Ensure ignition is off. Inspect instrument cluster 8-pin switch connector and terminals. If connector and terminals are okay, replace instrument cluster. If connector are not okay, replace message center switch module.
Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Install jumper wire between ground and connector C1, pin No. 19. See Figure . If chime comes on, replace instrument cluster. If chime does not come on, repair open in circuit No. 183 (Tan/Yellow wire).
