Pinpoint Test Ag - Low Oil Pressure Warning Never/Always On
- Turn ignition on. Wait until prove-out cycle is completed. If warning is always on, go to next step. If warning is never on, go to step 4).
- Unplug oil pressure sensor. If warning goes out, go to next step. If warning does not go out, replace oil pressure sender.
- Ensure ignition is off. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect instrument cluster wiring harness connector. Check White/Red wire for a short to ground between connector C3, pin No. 5 and oil pressure sender. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is okay, replace instrument cluster and retest system.
- Turn ignition off. Connect jumper wire between oil pressure sensor connector White/Red wire terminal and ground. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If oil pressure warning light does not come on, repair circuit No. 31 (White/Red wire). If oil pressure warning light does come on, replace oil pressure sender.
