Instrument Cluster: Removal
- Disable air bag system. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article. Apply parking brake. Disconnect negative battery cable. Install Radio Removing Tool (T87P-19061-A) into radio face panel. Push tool in about 1" (25.4 mm) to release retaining clips. Pull radio free from dash.
- Remove steering column cover. Remove instrument center panel retaining screws. Remove instrument center panel. Disconnect 6 electrical connectors. Remove panel over headlight switch. Disconnect headlight switch wiring harness connector.
- Remove upper instrument panel retaining screws. Unsnap accessory control panel. See Figure . Pull panel forward and remove. Disconnect transaxle gear indicator cable from column. Remove instrument cluster retaining screws.
- Allow cluster to hang loose. Remove 3 lower dash panel retaining screws. Remove lower dash panel. Remove steering column reinforcement plate. Remove 4 steering column nuts. Lower steering column to rest on driver's seat.
- Remove blot from steering column, disconnecting transaxle gear indicator bracket from column. Pull instrument cluster outward. Unplug remaining electrical connectors. Remove instrument cluster.
