Wheel Hub & Bearings: Removal

  1. Remove steering knuckle/wheel hub assembly. See STEERING KNUCKLE  . Remove and discard grease seal.
  2. Using Puller (T87C-1104-A), Step Plate Adapter (D80L-630-5) and Hub Bearing Remover Adapter (T92C-1104-H), remove hub assembly from steering knuckle. See Fig 1 . If inner bearing race stays on hub, grind a section of race to within .197" (5 mm) of hub. Use a chisel at indent to remove race.
  3. Remove snap ring from steering knuckle. Remove wheel bearing using Puller (T87C-1104-A) and Hub Bearing Remover Adapter (T92C-1104-H). Leave dust shield on steering knuckle, unless damaged.
